Arkadia Expands Team with Senior Mining Advisory Hire
Arkadia Energy Investments has strengthened its mining advisory practice with the appointment of a senior technical expert with 20 years of experience across Africa and Asia.
Arkadia Energy Investments has strengthened its mining advisory practice with the appointment of a senior technical expert bringing over two decades of operational and transactional experience across Sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia. The hire reflects the firm's strategic commitment to deepening its technical due diligence capabilities as mining transaction activity accelerates across the Asia-Pacific region.
The new team member joins from a leading international mining consultancy where he led technical advisory mandates covering gold, copper, and critical minerals projects with a combined transaction value exceeding USD 4 billion. His expertise spans resource estimation, processing plant design, mine planning, and environmental compliance — capabilities that are increasingly central to the bankability assessments that underpin modern mining transactions.
The appointment comes at a pivotal moment for the sector. Mining M&A activity in Asia has surged in Q1 2026, driven by strategic acquirers seeking to secure critical mineral supply chains ahead of anticipated demand growth from the energy transition. Simultaneously, institutional investors are applying greater scrutiny to technical risk in mining assets, raising the bar for independent advisory support.
Arkadia's mining advisory practice now covers the full transaction lifecycle, from early-stage asset screening and technical due diligence through to vendor due diligence, fairness opinions, and post-acquisition operational advisory. The firm advises both buy-side and sell-side clients including private equity funds, sovereign wealth funds, mining majors, and development finance institutions.
The expansion of the team positions Arkadia to take on larger and more complex mining mandates, particularly in the critical minerals space where the intersection of technical complexity, geopolitical risk, and capital market requirements demands a multi-disciplinary advisory approach. The firm currently has active mining advisory mandates across Indonesia, the Philippines, Kazakhstan, and West Africa.
